My first impression of new teachers

We met new IES-B teachers two days ago.
One teacher, Peter was a rather short man who was very smart and he told us that he was going to teach us "humanity" next year and give us a very sucks thick textbook, which had more than 1000 page. He also told us he would give us 7-8 hour assignment every week......SUCKS!! But he told us that his student could go abroad to study 2 years with a scholarship of school. If we continued to keep up with his hard class, we must improve our English skills, so I'm looking forward to next year.
The other teacher, Jeff was handsome guy who was wearing glasses and he told us he was going to teach us "Social Science" next year. He talked about chess champion. Chess is a very difficult game because we have to think about how an opponent moves next piece in advance in many patterns. But we, human must think more than chess champion in dairy life. Word choice, Action of speed, Decision speed... I forgot the rest of what he had said!! But I noticed communicating with other people was very complicated. Anyway, I also looking forward to next IES-B class.

SwearWords

On Akihiro’s blog, he is talking about swearwords. I have a same idea with Akihiro’s. Actually, if we continue to study formal English like English we can learn at school, we become to live in foreign countries and study at those school but maybe we would have much difficulty in dairy life. Actually, as I have no experience about living in foreign country, I don’t know about swearwords at all so I struggled to understand American Movie like “Friends.”

It is very important to learn a formal English because it becomes a basis but I want to touch more American’s dairy communication. Maybe most of people who study English think the same thing.

TOEFL

We, Kansaigaidai students are classified to make a small class of next year, using the score of TOEFL. If we get a high score, we can go to high level class.
About 9 months ago, my TOEFL score was 507 but I didn't know whether this score was not good because other people around me got higher score. Anyway, my university life started in that way.
The class was very hard for me first. The teachers gave us tremendous assignments and required us not to speak Japanese and to say our opinion in English. We had to tackle difficult assignments almost all every night after coming home. These busy days went by.
I was very curious and worried about next TOEFL score becasue if my TOEFL score didin't go up, it's very bitter!
About one month ago, we had a TOEFL test to classify the next small class. I got 550 score. I could really feel my English improved throughout this semester.
Thank our IES-B teachers for teaching us hard.
All of us must increase our English skills.

Terrible Bird...

About one month ago, my classmate, Yuichi had to go to a camp in his air craft circle, so he had to find a person who could keep his ugly bird for 3 days. As my house was near Yuichi's house and I had no plan to go outside at that time, I agreed I took care of his ugly bird. He brought his bird to my house and left my house soon.
The nightmare started.
First, the ugly bird stayed calm but as the time had gone, he became very violently and screamed in very high voice. "Yuuuuuuuichi!!!" or ""kiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!"
As the ugly bird was so disturbing, my family told me to shut up him in a closet.
Of course I did but he continued to scream over and over. His action was also terrible. Though I fed him the pet food and water in plate, he always turned that plate upside down. My finger was pecked over and over, sometimes bleeds. These days continued for 3 days.
Not only Yuichi's bird looks ugly but also his personality was terrible for me.
I decided I would not keep other's pet...

Iraq War

It is said the reasons of breaking out Iraq War are too many.
American president, Bush says Iraq is hiding a large quantity of weapon of mass destruction and biological and chemical weapons so he needs to attack Iraq. He also says the civilian is opressed from Saddam Hussein and Bush tries to liberate civilians in Iraq from Hussein. He is also thinking this war would be one of the solutions against terrorism becasue Iraq is support country about terrorism.
Many countries are against this war, for example France, German, Russian and Chinese are against while Britain, Blair political power pffice agree with Bush's idea and started air raid in Iraq with American army on March 17 in 2003.
Because of this war, many precious human lives are sacrificed. I think war is the worst thing human ever did. becasue human's point of view reverses completely, that means, in our dairy lives, robbery or murder is extremely felony and blamed as the result, this leads imprisonment.
On the other hand, in the war, killing enemy is praised and honored. Both cases are the same thing from the point of view that both cases killed people. Only difference is in the war or dairy life. War is terrible. War controlls the human mind and thier lives.
I'm completely against war even if there is any reason. Human keeps a lot of lives in thier body. In other words, human sacrifices lots of other lives like animals and plants so human can live. Human also has to live until their life span ends in order to appreciate sacrificed animals or plants.

Difference of Communication Styles between Men and Women

Not only men and women are different in their physique but also they are different in their communication styles. It is said men lack the nonverbal communication ability such as attitudes, expressions or tone when communicating each other. For example, we often see women each other having conversation, using a lot of laughing, gestures and facial expressions. Unlike women, we often see men talking with low tone voice, little laughing and poker face. It is said this is definitely related to our ancestor’s habit. In early times, man was a creature that fights or hunts to survive. If the leader of a certain group becomes upset or unrest because of the only death of his fellow in conflict between tribes or when hunting, the rest other member of this group would become more upset and as the result, this group would lose the leadership and this leads to breakdown. As the result, men evolved, restraining their feeling or expressions from ancient times. On the other hand, the jobs of women were to keep housework, make foods or cultivating, communicating and cooperating with lots of people. Women needed to foster their communication ability as much as possible in ancient time. It is said this leads to today’s communication difference between men and women.

Homosexuality and Lesbian...

The show, in which people live a lifestyle they've never experienced before for a month, is set to premiere June 15. Episodes will follow a Christian who lives as a Muslim for 30 days and a conservative straight man who moves in with a gay roommate.
In the Bibble, it says christian must associate with heterosexual, so associating with homosexuals is prohibited. Lyan, who is christian and of course straight, challenges to live in the same house with gay man for 30 days.

Homosexuality is now very conservative problem in America. Many people disapprove to existence of homosexuality, so homesexuality is actually persecuted.
Do you think it is all right? Before I learn the actual present situation of homosexuality, I had a prejudice that homosexual is strange and different from normal straight guys, but I became to wonder, "What is the difference about their love to thier lovers"
I noticed there was no difference between homosexuals and heterosexuals. They honestly love one person and cherish him/her. The only difference is they happened to love the same sexual person. Is it ok those people are persecuted only because of this reason?
All people in America have eaquality and freedom, don't they? All people should have the fair opportunity to love anybody.

Through this film, my view toward homosexuals completely changed.
When I was in high school, there is a lesbian couple. My friends and I of course despise them and I felt very bad about them. When I think of it now, I was very stupid and felt sorry for them.
They happen to love each other. That is all.

In Japan, marrige of homo and lesbian is prohibitted and this topic doesn't come to light whereas marrige of them is gradually permitted in America. Though this topic is rarely discussed in public in Japan, there muse be many poeple who feel despised by public or wish to marry.
All Japanese should learn the present situation of homo or lesbian and notice there is little difference between them. There must be many people who is similar to my view that I had in high school.

Is it really happy to be millionaire?
Being a millionaire robbed me of the idea of cherishing things.
After I became a millionaire, association with my friends changed dramatically.
Being a millionaire changed my personality a lot.
But, is this brcause I became a millionaire?

Connotation of "Excuse me" in Japanese

There are many ways to say "Excuse me" in Japanese.
First I'll explain a positive way to say "Excuse me" in Japanese. Many prudent Japanese people say, "Sumimasen or Shitureidesuga." These phrases sound very polite and these are often used when we talk to people older than you or unknown people. For example, when we don't know how to get to the place we want to , we often ask other unknown people and say this first, "Sumimasen or Shitureidesuga."
Next I'll explain a negative way to say "Excuse me ." Many Japanese rarely say "Na-Na- or O-i." I think this has almost same meaning of "Sumimasen or Shitureidesga", but this sounds very rude if you talk to unknown or unfamiliar people. But when you talk to your friend, it's ok, I think.

Supersize me

In America, overweight and obese is becoming very serious problem. One out of three children is now overweigh or obese. This movie tried to proove that obese in America has something with the fastfood.

What he tried this time was to continue eating Macdonald for 30 days. He decided some rules. That is about "if he is asked to have super size, he has to eat that one", "He has to have all three meals in Macdonald", "He has to try all menues in Macdonald" He did temporaly heakth check to check whether his health went bad or good by visiting many kinds of doctors. Fastfood has a lot of sugar and salt and fat so he got weight by 25 pounds finally and has trouble in his liver. He prooved, at the sacrifice of his health, that continueing eating fastfood was obviously harmful to human body.

I think this is very interesting and I was surprised at how many Americans were so fat.
In my opinion, certainly fastfood has too much sugar, salt and fat, but is it only contribution to obese?? The answer is no. The fault is American's eating habit, which means American eat too much! In Japan, there are many fastfood shop and many people go there(though I rarely go)
But clearly, the population of obese people in Japan is much smaller than that of America. So this means that because you often eat fastfood, you don't necessarily become fat. The fault is onlly Americans eat too much.
For example, my classmate Yuichi was in New York when he was junior high. At that time, his weight is over 70 but now his weight is only about 55 kilogram. He said he did nothing particular to lose his weight, but he lost his weight by over 15. It's amazing! The reason that can be thought is his eating habit cahnged.
So I think certainly, though fastfood has a lot of harmful things, it is not only reason why America has so many obese people.

Intelligence Inventory

Why is society interested in your intelligence and schooling?
I think the reason why society requires how we are intelligent is because the society needs the criterion to measure our potencial abilities and personal characteristics. If a person is graduated from university, the society can find easily that person has the abitily to tackle the very difficult problem and has decent characteristics because, from elementary school to university, people need to attend class everyday and behave well in school. Of course, if our studying ability is high, we can enlarge our possibility of future, that is, what to do in the future.
I think society is interested in our intelligence and schooling because of this reason.

Do you think intelligence is fixed at birt, or is it constantly changing?
This is very interesting question. Actually there is a person that however he tries to understand, he cannot understand how to deal that problem. I'm also this kind of person. For me, I am very poor at Japanese(Kokugo). Before the entrance examination, I tried solving as much question as I could but my studying skill of Japanese didn't go well at all. So I gave up studying Japanese and I studied only English to enter this university. So my one intelligence about Japanese didn't change.
Is certain intelligence is fixed at birth? I disagree this idea. When we are baby, we have no power, no interect we can only breathe and cry and sleep. As we grow up, we can learn lots of things to communicate and survive.
I think the problem is that there are some ability that is not tend to improve.For me, Japanese. So, though intelligence may be not tend to improve easily, I think, intelligence must change constantly as we grow up more and more.

Why do some highly intelligent people fail to achieve their potential?
I think this is because that person couldn't notice and find their suitable potential. So he can't bring out his outstanding talent. Can all highly intelligent people do anything?? I don't think this is right. Even if there is very highly intelligent person, maybe he has his strong point and weak point. To bring out his highly intelligence most effectively, he must specialize in what he is good at. I think, however, to find what is suitable for each people takes a lot of time and this is very difficult. So even highly intelligent people fail to achieve their potential.

How natives think

When we recieved the second reading book entitled "Slaughter House", our teacher,Adam said "This book is more difficult than first book, Animal farm" he continued "Even for me, there is unknown words sometimes in this book "
When I heard this, I feel happy somehow＠＠ I didn't know that even native cannot understaand some parts of English!
By the way, if the sentence structure is wrong like
"He play soccer very well"

Of course, the correct one is
"He plays soccer very well"

But I think if I use the first wrong sentence, maybe the foreigner can understand the meaning.
How does this wrong one sound to native? Does this sound non-educated??

Gaidai Festival

Today, I went to Kansaigaidai Festival with my friends. At 2, there is a contest that decides the miss Kansaigaidai university, which means who is the most beautifl woman in Kansaigaidai. As we were sitting far from that stage, I didn't see five applicant clearly. But they all seemed to be very beautiful and had good style according to my friends. I heard the as a representative of Kansaigaidai the winner would go to the miss kansai contest, which included the other miss university of other university.
Anyway after that I went to the Yuich and Akihiro's stand to eat the Tempra ice cream. I ate the vanilla and it was like a frozen cream puff and tastes very good!!(Maybe Yuichi would upload the picture)
After that we took a stroll around the Kansaigaidai. Anyway, I had a very good time.
I'm looking forward to next Kansaigaidai Fesitval><

I had lost...

About a week ago, something unfortunate happened to me. At that time, I went to the workplace by bike and parked that bike on the street. I worked for 5 hours and finished my job for that day. When I was going home, I found my bike was stolen!!! I searched for my bike, wondering whether there was my bike near the place I had parked, but I couldn't find...
Soon I noticed it was my fault the that the bike was stolen, because I had forgot locking the key!!
Walking home and getting to my house, I was very scolded because that bike was my brother's.
Oh! I have to compensate for this fault, buying a new bike.
Oh! my money is running out of my bag@@;
I have to be more carefull while using the things that belong to others.

Loud sound...

Today, maybe at 8-9 o'clock, I was using my computer and feeling at ease in my room.
But suddenly, something sounds like an explosion echoed outside of my mansion. That sound repeated twice or three times and many residents went out into a corridor or a veranda.
While the residents were making noisies, the siren of a fire engine truck was coming near!!
Being very curious, I also went out into veranda and I saw the building burning powerfully!!!
Astonished with this, I called one of my friends and hurried the scene of this explosion.
Many people were crowded at this scene.
The place was not so far from the Kansaigaidai.It has been said one people was killed in this explosion.
Now, the fire was put out, the amount of damage was unknown yet. Did you notice this accident and know something about this??@@

50 First Dates

Main character is Henry Loss, who is an animal doctor, working in Hawaii and his hobby is to date with woman tourists for short time like one, two or three days. He is a man who is very attracted to woman. But he meets local woman whose name is Lucy. Lucy works as an art teacher and she is kind-hearted. But she has a memorial disorder. She can't remember more than one day, which means every time she gets up in the morning, she forgets what she did the other day. she is lead the same life everyday.

point of view
This story is mainly described in the view of Loss and Lucy. From Loss's view, we can understand how he loves Lucy. From Lucy's view, we can understand how she also loves him and worry about her memorial disorder.

This story is described in Hawaii. When Loss visit one cafeteria, he sees Lucy. This is the first contact of them and this story starts at this moment. Lucy is living in house with her father and brother. The surrounding environment is very peaceful.

The scene I am remembering clearly is the car accident scene that caused the Lucy's memorial disorder. Lucy and her father are going home after picking pineapples and that moment, a cow suddenly appeared in front of their car and her father avoided crashing. As the result, their car crashed into big tree and Lucy was injured in her brain.

The first important scene is Loss realized that Lucy didn't remember anything about him though he and she promised to meet at the cafe the other day. But Loss tries to win her heart every day by trial and error though she forgets what she did with him the other day every time she gets up in the morning.

I think second important scene is when Lucy realized that she had a memorial disorder. She accidentally was inquired by illegal parking and she realized she was leading same day everyday. She asked to her family why and goes to doctor.

I think the climax is when Loss returns back to Lucy. Lucy and Loss leads very lovely life together but one day Lucy tells him that she should erase all memories living with him because she has no future. He accepts that request and he decides to leave. He received some gifts from Lucy, that is music CD. Listening that CD, he realized Lucy remenbered him in her deep heart. He go back to Lucy and decide to marry her.

Oil Problem...

Waching TV today, I heard interesting but very serious news about environmental problems.
That new is about if all oils in the world were used up, could humanbeing survive? I first thoght of course, we could survive because there were many ways to produce energy, for example wind power generation, nuclear power generation, photovoltaic generation(power of sunlight) and so on. I think there are many other ways to produce. But the news said actually if all of power forces other than oil would be used to produce energy necesarry for human to survive, only these powers would not be enough at all. This means the lost of oil makes us die. Using oil for our advantage quicken the death of our life in return.

Nowadays, the price of oil is becoming higher and higher. I wonder what would become to our earth in 100 years later. Could human-being lead a normal life as we are living today?

Japanese gesture

Gestures are one way to communicate with others.
Here is an example of a gesture to show your disagreement in Japan. If you are asked by a teacher, "Did you do your homework yesterday?" and if you didn't do your homework, you can answer this question with this gesture. First, with two hands and two forefinger, you cross two forefingers like making "X" in front of your body. If you do this, the teacher would find you are not ready for your homework. We usually use this gesture with face-expressions that shows some apology.

Putting myself in a others' situation...

Pretend that I have to live in a poor country like Africa. Could I endure such a severe situation?
Though there might be bias against poor African country, I think of those places as very hard to live.
First problem is "Could I find the place to live?" In such a poor country, living place might not be guaranteed so I might have to live in a street, where no air-conditioner, TV, furniture are equiped.

Second is "health" problems. In such a severe environment, tough body would be needed but I don't have such a tough body. If I caught a cold or had health problem, would I afford to go to a doctor? Money is ok? I don't know...

Final problem is "Food" problem. To survive, food is the most important thing but many children are starving to death now. Naturally, I couldn't eat food enough but I have to survive. I might become willing to die.

I thought that if I really experienced others' living situation, I absolutely became to think others living was hard more than expected. In the future, to widen my view toward others, I really want to put myself in others' situation.

comment about "30 days"

Through this movie, I learned that what I am is very luxurious. As well as Scott, I am also extravagant. If I have enough money, I tend to buy soon what I want. But people who is living by minimun wage, they have to make their living desparetly to survive. They scacely afford to buy extra thing. Only going sick health center may disturb their living greatly. I thought I had to think back on my life style and view about money.

I had been thinking that America was very rich country unlike poor African country but I found that only a few part of American states was rich and the rest of those states are really poor. I hope many medias should turn their eyes toward this situation.

My opinion about poor black people in America

So far I had thought that America was very rich country and people in America had freedom.
But after hurricane Katrina hit America, many medias turned thier eyes toward New Orleans, where most of people were black and poor.
The government' remedy for this city was very slow. I think the government made light of black people yet. Although many people say America is free country, there is actually racial discrimination.
I think Bush is too interested in outer things, for example his legacy to Iraq and the war to terror, to turn his eye toward inner thing, that is discrimination in America.

To get a driver license...

I went to Hiroshima to get a driver license on August 23. I went there with two people.
We were going to get driver licenses in a short period――16days.
We had expected that this camp would be enjoyable.
Against our expect, this camp was very hard. First day and next day was very enjoyable but interest about Hiroshima gradually disappered.
Everyone get tired of being in Hiroshima and at last one friend went back to Osaka.
I absolutely wanted a driver license so I decided to stay in Hiroshima till getting driver license.
We finished each course smoothly and come near to graduating day of driving school.
But on september 6, big typhoon hit Hiroshima erea so our draduating day was put off for two days.
At last we could go back to Osaka on Sep 10. Though this camp was very hard, we could get drivers license.
I want to visit many famous places by using my car><

What do you want to do to maintain your health?

During summer vacation, my life cycle was very terrible. I had three part-time jobs and the time I have to go each work place was very different. As a result, I had to sleep at different time everyday and my physical condition went bad. In such a bad condition, I didn't want to do anything, for example, enjoy with friends, go shopping, watch TV....
I couldn't feel hapiness.
I learned that maintainning good life cycle was very important key to health and hapiness.
On account of hard work, I had to miss a meal sometimes so eating three meals everyday is also important. How is your opinion?

What do your friends mean to your happiness?

For me, friends mean a suppor of my mind. Usually I don't think about my friends seriously and only enjoy something with them.
But I appreciate the importance of friends when my feeling is very low.
During summer vacation, I went to Hirishima to get a driving license with two friends.
When I failed an examination and had to stay in Hirishima two more days than my two friends, I really appreciated the importance of friends.
After my two friends returned to Osaka, they worried me and called me everyday.
I felt hapaness so I had to cherish my friends.

How important is $ to your happiness? What do you want to buy?

In my opinion, money is important thing for my hapiness.
If my family had been poor and Ihad been raised up in such a environment, money mghit not be important for my hapiness. At present, there is almost nothing to do without money.
If Ihad no money, I couldn't go to college, buy food, car and cloth. Association with friends would be restricted and there might be no place to sleep. In such a tough situation, I would not get hapiness.
Of course, my opinion would be different fron others.

Do you like running?

Before I talk about running, I have to say..."OHHH!NO!!"
I forgot posting... I have to make a consistent effort next summer....orz
By the way, do you like running? Maybe many of you do not like running very much.
Running is tiring, dull and it surely takes a lot of time but it is very good for our health.
Since my entrance of Kansaigaidai University, I have been running almost everyday.
I run at least 2km and at most 5km in a day. This is not long distance but running every day is harder than you expect.
You may think why I like running so much. If I don't run, I will be restless though I don't know exact reason. Running also makes me refreshful!
I am going to continue this running habit during summer vacation.

The summer is coming!

Recently, It is very very hot outside. I feel summer is coming soon. I like summer the best all of other season because there are many events. What I want to do in this summer are to go to the many festivals, do the fireworks and go to the sea or pool with many people.
Have you ever been to PL festival? Fireworks of PL festival is one of the most famous, beutiful and fantastic fireworks in the Japan. You should go!!! I also intend to have a driver's license in this summer. But maybe I can't do all of what I want to in this summer because the teachers would impose lots of homework maybe maybe maybe...（´△｀）

Blurb for my sad life

He has really been leading normal life but since childhood he liked one thing――basketball.
One day he watched TV and saw Michael Jordan playing basketball fantastically. He was pure so he thought that he wanted to be a person like him. Since then, he played basketball enthusiastically everyday everyday everyday!!! but terrible things happened when he was a first-year student at junior high school. His father suddenly said "You can't become a player like Jordan because......................." ...(´д｀；).......(゜д゜)
He first learned real hardship and gave up his dream. ヽ(´―｀)ノ
This is the most impressive thing in his life.
If his father hadn't said that, what would he do now?

Class Reunion of Junior High School

Because many people who were my friends at junior high school asked me to hold a class reunion, I have been assembling about 30 people in my third-year student of my class before.Last saturday we finally held a class reunion. The place was riverbed near the Yodo river. Some people, especially girls, changed so much that I couldn't recognize who were who. We drunk too much and talked about past things. Some boys ,including me, took off our clothes except for under pants and dived into the river@@; Although it would be foolish and silly in the view of other people, I had a good and precious time. I felt sometimes it's necessary to become foolish and silly!
Have you held a class reunion yet? If not, you should hold a class reunion as soon as possible!

Unpippy and Dishamhamed Ant

There was an unpippy and dishamhamed ant.
He was all alone and even hivenize by himself.
One day he felt he was very hungry and kyupied some foods.
On the way of kyuping some foods, he found a sugerman and he said"Don't eat me".
Ant was too kind-hearted and masyumaron to eat that sugerman,so he couldn't help kyuping some another foods.
Then he met anteater and he was eaten.

Every small living thing has their own life and drama.

How nice to be kind to others!

I talked about the happning of losing the bag previously,but I found my bag!
Two days ago, I receive a call from Educational Affairs Section in my university.
He said "you lost your bag,didn't you? your bag is now at police station. please go to there to take it"
I was very amazed and delighted to hear that!Someone very kind might report my bag to the police station.I guessed that though my bag was found, the some contents would be missing...but fortunately the content was completed!!
Then I thought what a kind person there was!If I were in that person's place I might have pull out only money.With this experience, I decided that I would bring any lost article to the police station.I learned how important to be kind to others!

The happening of part-time job

I have been working in Hokka Hokka Tei for more than six months.
I make lunch,delivery lunch and do many things.
While I was delivering lunchs by bike, I was always possessing my purse.
But last saturday, I found that I did not have my purse when I was delivering.
I lost my purse! In spite of doing the part-time job I searched my purse by bike.
I searched again and again,over and over....But I couldn't find...
I was very very ......... disappointed because there were many things in my purse, for example credit card , student ID card, postal saving card, driver's license and many rental card.
What I was dissapointed the most was the earing of a day's work was less than the the money in my purse. I wondered why I was working!
I wish someone picked up my purse and took it to police...><

Hi! My name is Tanaka Syuhei.
I'm student in kansaigaidai university.
I think our university is one of the most beautiful university in Jpan.
When I came this school ,I was impressed by the big biuldings and many students.
Studying in kansaigaidai is much harder than I expected.
The teacher gives us much much.....homework.
I'm poor at listening so I often can't understand what the teacher is saying.
